# Answering a provider's question

Providers sometimes need more information before or during the work. You'll be notified, and the job and case are marked as needing your reply.

## How to answer

1. Open the job. The question is at the top.
2. Click **Respond**, write your answer and attach any files.
3. Send it. The provider is notified.

Answer from the question itself, not in the job's chat. A chat message doesn't count as an answer, so the question would stay open.

Files you send with an answer are added to the case's files as the newest version.

## Forwarding a question to your clinician

On a case an invited clinician submitted, you can choose **Forward to clinician**:

1. Edit the question if you need to, and add a note.
2. The clinician answers from their case.
3. Their answer comes back to you. Review it, edit it if needed, and send it to the provider.

Nothing passes directly between the clinician and the provider. You can still answer the question yourself while it's with the clinician.
